Foundation Herringbone Half Double Crochet

I like using foundation stitches to create my starting row, because when I use a chain and crochet into, I don’t get as much stretch. So the other day when I started creating a new pattern (Lacy Clover Tank, coming soon), I played with the foundation row and came up with a way to do Foundation Herringbone Half Double Crochet (FHBhdc). I’m pretty excited about this and really excited to share it with y’all. This stitch can be used for any pattern that calls for a starting row of HBhdc. This “trick” is brought to you as part of the Tips & Tricks Tuesday at American Crochet. Be sure to check out the other tips and tricks she is sharing from various designers and others.

Swirling Leaves Stitch Tutorial

I have several patterns that use the Swirling Leaves stitch. It is one that I keep going back to because I thoroughly enjoy it! Sometimes when first doing the stitch, I have had people get confused so I decided to give a stitch tutorial! I don’t yet have the capability to do a video tutorial but am always willing to answer questions so if the photos don’t work for you, let me know and I will try to help in whatever way I can! So I am giving you a Swirling Leaves stitch tutorial.
