Pamala Buttoned Slouch – Free Pattern

Today is my mom’s birthday. It is also her 5 year anniversary of being declared clear of breast cancer; although the official word won’t happen until next month when she sees her doctor. The Pamala Buttoned Slouch was originally published on Cre8tion Crochet as a contributor pattern, and more of my patterns can be found over there as well.

Pamala Buttoned Slouch Main

My mom is such a strong lady and has come through so much. She is an inspiration, and I love her! After designing this hat, I created some other designs in the Pamala line which can be found in my Ravelry store HERE. You can also read more about my mom’s story and what led to this pattern line here on the blog.

Flip Flop Drink Sleeve – Graph & Pattern

Did you know that today is National Flip Flop Day? I love flip flops in the summer and this graph is great to use for many things but I personally love it to make a Flip Flop Drink Sleeve. This also lets me enjoy my flip flops year round and not just in the summer. There are two sizes for this pattern, a can size and a cup size, and both in single crochet and Tunisian. This pattern originally appeared on the Cre8tion Crochet blog as one of my contributions there. You can find more of my patterns over there and some other great contributor patterns as well.

Toddler & Child Basic Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern

This post may contain affiliate links.

I remember getting so frustrated because my kids have big heads and I would find patterns that didn’t give a circumference and were labeled “toddler” or “child” and wouldn’t fit my kids because their noggins were too big for the standard. I had the same trouble when they were babies as well. My babies couldn’t ever wear the newborn sizes for hats (you can find the preemie and newborn sizes of this pattern HERE and the infant sizes HERE). My Toddler & Child Basic Beanie pattern works for those kids who don’t always fit the standard because I have listed the head measurements that I based these sizes on! A great resource for sizing hats can be found HERE at Tot Toppers, this is my go-to resource if a customer is unable to measure a child’s head for me.

I was recently a competitor in Round 9 of Battle of the Stitches which used the Trellis Waves stitch. When I started working one of my designs for the round, the idea for this hat came to me and I have to say that I am so in love with how the Trellis Waves Slouch turned out. It came to life exactly how I thought it would and my testers loved the design as well. This is my contribution for Cre8tion Crochet. Be sure to check her out for more great patterns from her and other talented designers. [Read more…]

Infant Basic Beanie Free Crochet Pattern

This post contains affiliate links. I receive a small percentage on purchases made through these links. This allows me to continue bringing you free patterns and other quality content!

New free crochet pattern just for y’all! This is the infant basic beanie (still to come are the toddler through child and adult sizes) in 0-3m, 3-6 m, and 6-12m. For preemie and newborn sizes, go HERE. I love having a good basic beanie pattern because if you have a base, you can go anywhere from there! I would get so frustrated because my kids have heads in the 90th plus percentile and nothing ever seemed to fit them.

Nautilus Baby Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern

This post may contain affiliate links. I earn a small percentage from any purchases made through my affiliate links. This allows me to keep bringing you free patterns and other quality content!

One of my first pattern lines was the Nautilus line. My second contribution to Cre8tion Crochet was the Nautilus Baby Beanie. It is hard to believe that this pattern has been out for almost 2 years! The inspiration for these patterns was a knit hat that I saw on Pinterest that I fell in love with. One of my favorite things is to take inspiration from knit designs and try to recreate something similar in crochet.

Summer Accessories Roundup

I’m always looking for fun summer items to crochet and wear when the weather gets warm. I like shawls for moving from the Oklahoma heat to the sometimes uncomfortably cool air conditioning (usually when I’m sitting in church). I also enjoy a cute scarf or cowl for an accent piece and of course having headbands and hair accessories are a must as well for me and for my daughter!

So I decided to roundup some of my favorite free patterns for crochet summer accessories to share with y’all.

Father’s Day Pattern Roundup

****All pictures in this roundup are the property of the designer unless otherwise noted****

It can sometimes be hard to find things to crochet for the guys in your life. I decided to do a roundup of crochet patterns for dad with Father’s Day coming up. Most of these there is still time to make them before Father’s day which is fast approaching! I asked my testers for input on what some of their favorites are when I was putting this together and planning the roundup.

FathersDayRoundup

I’ll start with the freebies:

1. Father Pullover by Melissa Leapman for Red Heart – I love how simple this sweater looks. And even if you don’t make it for Father’s Day, it is something that can be made for Christmas or birthday. It is a very classic looking sweater.

2. Diamonds in the Rough by Michael Snow – This scarf done in Tunisian crochet is subtly patterned and looks great. Using the Tunisian simple stitch and Tunisian purl stitch, it is an easy and beautiful project. Perfect for the trendy dad in your life!

3. Tunisian Tie by Kara Gunza of Petals to Picots – Another Tunisian crochet pattern, this tie is another simple and quick project. Easily personalized with colors, a new take on a classic Father’s Day gift.

4. Slip Stitch Bow Tie by Jessie Rayot of Jessie At Home – And if the man in your life prefers a bow tie, there is a pattern for that as well!

5. Work or Play Beanie by Kathy Lashley of ELK Studio – This simple hat looks great and is sure to please whoever it is made for. Nice and thin to not be bulky but great for some warmth.

And the paid ones:

6. Opa House Shoes Slippers by Tara Murray of Mamachee – I really like these slippers from Mamachee. It can be hard to find a good slipper pattern for men but this one definitely fits the need.

7. Manly Man Spa Set by Krista Short of The Evergreen Shore – Who says spa sets are only for women? The manly men in your family will love this one! (pssssttttt….keep your eyes open for a review and giveaway involving this one coming soon!)

8. Ballcap Earwarmer by Lisa Jelle of Kaleidoscope Art&Gifts – This would be great for the guy that likes to hunt! Done in camo yarn or hunter orange or even team colors. The possibilities are endless!

9. Shockwave Beanie by Liz McQueen of Playin’ Hooky Designs – This is the hat that she campaigned for Zac Brown to wear on stage. You can read about that here on her blog. I love how this hat can be subtle or bold depending on color choices.

10. The Tech Lounger by Krista Short of  The Evergreen Shore – If you have a techie in your life, this would be a great gift! You could do team colors or just leave it neutral.

So these were some of my favorites. Do you have any favorite patterns for the guys in your life? Which of these are you most likely to make or is your favorite?

Keep creating!
