Summer Accessories Roundup

I’m always looking for fun summer items to crochet and wear when the weather gets warm. I like shawls for moving from the Oklahoma heat to the sometimes uncomfortably cool air conditioning (usually when I’m sitting in church). I also enjoy a cute scarf or cowl for an accent piece and of course having headbands and hair accessories are a must as well for me and for my daughter!

So I decided to roundup some of my favorite free patterns for crochet summer accessories to share with y’all.

Pictures belong to designers.

1. Peacock Lace Infinity Cowl by Kim Guzman – I love this one. It would be great to give a little bit of a dressy look to jeans and a tank or use it with that little black dress for date night!

2. Summer Lovin’ Scarf by Krista Short of Evergreen Shore – This versatile accessory is great to go with your summer outfits. Wear it as a scarf, a head wrap or even possibly tie it around your waist as a belt!

3. Fancy Market Bag by Lorene Eppolite of Cre8tion Crochet – What’s summer without a market bag? This one from Cre8tion Crochet is the perfect mix of functional and pretty!

4. Strap Flip Flop Sandals by Whistle & Ivy – One of my favorite patterns for little feet! These are good for boys or girls and work up pretty quick.

5. Peekaboo Picot Flip Flops by Lisa Egan of Pink Snail Boutique – I love embellished flip flops and these are really pretty.

6. Peekaboo Picot Headband by Pink Snail Boutique – And I had to include this one! A headband to match your flip flops is just perfect!

7. Crocheted Barefoot Sandals by The Little Bucket Boutique – A summer accessory roundup would not be complete without barefoot sandals (in my opinion). I have made several pairs of these recently for a wedding party. They work up quick and look great. I have even sewn pearl beads into the center of the flowers.

8. Southern Comfort by Kathy Lashley of ELK Studio – I love all of Kathy’s designs and this one in particular is near and dear to my heart. My mom is a survivor and lives in Houston. Her hair still is very wispy and she often needs hats to cover and protect her head. This is a great summer option!

9. St Croix Beach Wrap by Dianne Hunt of Same DiNamics Crochet – I absolutely love patterns that have versatility to them and this one definitely does! It can be worn as a wrap for a swimsuit coverup or a shawl to cover your shoulders in cool air conditioning or summer evenings.

10. Pixie Blossoms Braid Ivy and Headband by Kelli Wohlgemuth of Sick Lil Monkeys – This hair accessory is versatile and can be done in any colors to go with a favorite outfit or to just make a little princess happy.

So those are some of my favorite summer accessories from free patterns. What are some of yours? Please share with me in the comments.
