The Lacy Clover Infant Bonnet was inspired by St. Patrick’s Day! I wanted to use a stitch that looked like clover so I went on the hunt for one that “spoke” to me. What I found was the Clover Lattice stitch in my copy of Robyn Chachula’s Crochet Stitches Visual Encyclopedia which is one of my go to resources for great stitches. I wanted a stitch that said springtime to me and was open enough it could be worn in spring or even summer. For summer wear, I would recommend a cotton or other breathable yarn. This is my contribution to Cre8tion Crochet.

I hope you enjoyed this Lacy Clover Infant Bonnet! Check out my Ravelry store to see my other designs. If you did like this, be sure to check in or follow me (you can subscribe to my newsletter HERE or over on the right sidebar) as there will be more designs coming with this stitch. I think I have four in the works at the moment but who knows what ELSE my mind will come up with in addition to those!

This was the first time I had used the Anne Geddes Baby from Red Heart. I really liked it so you will probably also see more designs using it, not just this Lacy Clover Infant Bonnet.

Such a sweet bonnet! Thank you!!!

  2. Carolyn says:

This is a beautiful bonnet! I’m making a bunch for my hospital’s memento room. I have a question: on round seven (newborn pattern) you have the sequence repeating 3 times, with 7 stitches left over. But there are enough stitches left to do one more repeat… so should I do 4 repeats with 7 stitches left, or 3 repeats with 15 stitches leftover? Thanks so much!

    • creativethreadslf says:

I am so sorry that I am just seeing this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. It would be 4 repeats with 7 stitches left.

      • Elizabeth Zombik says:

Hello and thank you for the pattern! I was trying to figure out what to do on round 8 for SC in CL. Is it one SC in that middle stitch of the cluster? Thanks!

      • creativethreadslf says:

The cluster is closed with a single stitch. So it is in the top of the cluster.
