I am so excited to share my newest pattern with you, the Icy Trellis Boot Cuffs. A few weeks ago, I was stuck without power due to winter storms and ended up at my in-laws’ house with my kids. I made sure that I grabbed some yarn when I left my house and proceeded to play with some stitches. This pattern for my Icy Trellis Boot Cuffs was the result. I am absolutely in love with how they turned out and hope you enjoy this latest free crochet pattern! This is my contribution to Cre8tion Crochet for this month.

All joins are made with a sl st around the post for front post rounds and into beginning chain for other rounds.

Beginning chains do not count as sts.

I like using this method to join and work in the round with foundation half double crochet from Crochet Ever After.

Yarn Samplers From Knit Picks

Special Stitches:

Foundation half double crochet – chain 2, yarn over and insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, draw up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through one loop on hook (This makes the “chain” and you still have 3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops. For additional sts, yarn over and insert hook in chain made, yarn over and draw through one loop on hook (This makes the “chain” and you still have 3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

Surface braid half double crochet – yarn over, insert hook in the 3rd loop of stitch from the previous row, yarn over and pull through all three loops

Front post double crochet – yarn over, insert hook from the front to back to front around the post of stitch from previous row, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through 2 remaining loops

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Please explain the SBhdc used in rows 2 -9. i know how to do hdc but I’m not understanding the sb part.

The SBhdc is done into the 3rd lp at the back of the stitch. It pushes the top two loops to the front of the stitch.
