Pattern Testing: How I Do It

I have had so many people ask me about my process that I use with pattern testing that I decided to do a post on how I do it! It took me a while to get my process down, and I still tweak it from time to time as things change or something doesn’t work for me.

I am often mobile and had to find a system that works well for me even when I am on the go; although I am planning on that changing this month! YAY!

Tester Call

There are times when I need to find new testers. I will usually start by asking for recommendations from designer friends and those already in my testing group before I put a general call on my business page. I do have a tester application permanently on my page. I use Google Forms for my application along with some of the other information that I collect from testers (but I will get to that later). If you would like to see how I have the form set for the application, just click on the graphic above.

Adaptations to a Stocking Pattern

This post is part of the Christmas in July~Hanukkah in the Heat Blog Hop Special Event.

I shared some of my favorite Christmas patterns last Christmas season and this was one of the ones I shared. A customer wanted stockings and when I was sending her pictures for options, she fell in love with this one but wanted it longer and wanted names at the top. So I made some pattern adaptations and decided to share what I did and my results! I still need to make 2 more for my customer and will be starting on them soon. If you would like to order some, I am offering a discount for orders placed by July 24th.

You can buy the pattern here from Schere Wade, who is the designer. I absolutely enjoyed this pattern. It is well written with a diagram for the layout and works up fairly quickly. It was really easy for me to take this on the go and work on it a little bit at a time. Here is her original design.
