I am so excited to share my newest pattern with you, the Icy Trellis Boot Cuffs. A few weeks ago, I was stuck without power due to winter storms and ended up at my in-laws’ house with my kids. I made sure that I grabbed some yarn when I left my house and proceeded to play with some stitches. This pattern for my Icy Trellis Boot Cuffs was the result. I am absolutely in love with how they turned out and hope you enjoy this latest free crochet pattern! This is my contribution to Cre8tion Crochet for this month.

Crochet Embroidery Craft for Kids

As I was going through Facebook the other day, one of the crochet groups that I am part of had a really neat idea for a embroidery craft for kids! I got excited about this and asked the lady who posted it if I could blog about it. She said I could so here goes! My daughter loves to create with me and has really shown interest lately in my embroidery and counted cross stitch. This project is a great way to let a little one practice new skills. Plus it is great for fine motor coordination.

Tips & Tricks 2: Crochet Graphs in Excel

At one point, I used Google Drawings for my crochet graphs that I create. I just recently switched over and tried one in Excel. I much prefer Excel for the graphs now! So, on the recommendation of another designer friend, Krista of Evergreen Shore, I decided to do a tutorial on how to create crochet graphs in Excel.

Free Crochet Pattern: French Flag Graph

With the tragedy in Paris, one of my friends decided to get some other designers together and bring attention to some of the places that are accepting donations and to provide patterns that can show our solidarity with Paris. My design is a French flag graph to insert into my free drink sleeve pattern. It can also be inserted into the pattern for my arm corset. This graph can also be used in other patterns and can even be used for knit, cross stitch, perler beads and other crafts.

A new free crochet pattern, the Swirling Leaves Wine Cozy, is a fun project to work up for your holiday gifts. It was a big hit with my testers and as usual they made my work look amazing! I so appreciate them. If you aren’t a wine drinker, the smaller size does work on a bottle of sparkling grape juice or cider.

This is my contribution to Cre8tion Crochet.

As many of you know by now, I have teamed up with 14 other AMAZING designers for the #HolidayStashdownCAL2015. This week is my pattern. Since I wasn’t sure what everyone would have in their stashes, I decided to give y’all options! Either option uses less than a single skein of yarn. The fine weight version uses about 75 yards total or the medium weight version uses just over 100 yards total. I made my sample version of the fine one with two colors and I cannot wait to see all of your creativity in making these! So, I hope you enjoy this free crochet pattern for the Swirling Leaves Wristlet.

Swirling Leaves Stitch Tutorial

I have several patterns that use the Swirling Leaves stitch. It is one that I keep going back to because I thoroughly enjoy it! Sometimes when first doing the stitch, I have had people get confused so I decided to give a stitch tutorial! I don’t yet have the capability to do a video tutorial but am always willing to answer questions so if the photos don’t work for you, let me know and I will try to help in whatever way I can! So I am giving you a Swirling Leaves stitch tutorial.

Free Crochet Pattern – Twisted Treasures Boot Cuff

Sometimes I find a stitch that I just know I want to create something out of and that is what happened with this, my latest free crochet pattern. I did adapt the stitch a bit to get the exact look I wanted because it wasn’t coming out “just right”. Also, I love wearing boot cuffs so that is why I decided to make them. I will be doing more patterns with this stitch though because I really enjoyed making these with it. The name for these boot cuffs is a mashup of a couple of the suggestions from my testers. So please enjoy the Twisted Treasures Boot Cuffs!

Twisted Treasures Stitch Tutorial

I love browsing for different stitches or coming up with my own combinations and have so much fun creating designs that I hope y’all enjoy as much as I enjoy creating them. I will often find a stitch and then tweak it a bit to get the look exactly how I want it which is what I did with the stitch that I am using in my Twisted Treasures line of patterns. The boot cuffs are available as my contribution to Cre8tion Crochet but I decided to create a stitch tutorial post for the 3 rows that have places that could be tricky. For this design I used Knit Picks Mighty Stitch which is one of their new yarns. I will tell you more about that later!
